Mr. Phil Ewerdt

Mr. Ewerdt is the 5th grade teacher and coach at St. John's. He grew up in Ixonia, WI, the third son of Pastor Kenneth and Tresa Ewerdt. He graduated from Lakeside Lutheran HS in 2000 and Martin Luther College in 2008. The length of time between starting and completing MLC was due to joining the Minnesota Army National Guard in 2003 and being deployed to Iraq from 2005-2007. Before the deployment he got the wonderful privilege to be married to Hannah. 

After graduating from MLC he taught grades 3-5 for 8 years at St. John in St. Paul, MN where he was also in charge of VBS and Athletic Director. Then he took a call to teach grades 5-6 and be the Athletic Director and Youth Leader at New Hope in West Melbourne, FL.

He and his wife have four children. They enjoy spending time outside with gardening, camping, hiking, etc. 

Mr. Ewerdt looks forward to having the opportunity to teach the students about Jesus' love for them and his amazing designs in the world and divine hand throughout history.
