Jesus Loves You - February Observer Message

We should always know for certain, without a doubt, that Jesus loves us. We just celebrated Jesus’ coming into this world in a very humble way to save sinners like us. We just celebrated Epiphany (Jan. 6th) and continue to celebrate Jesus’ showing Himself to be the Savior of all people including Gentiles (non-Jews) like us. And very soon we will be reminded again of the agony and suffering and death which Jesus endured (Ash Wednesday is already February 10th), all because He loves us. In this month of “love” (celebrating Valentine’s Day), let’s remember Jesus’ real love for each of us.

How do I love thee? Let me count the ways. “Jesus loves me! This I know, for the Bible tells me so. Little ones to Him belong, they are weak, but He is strong.”

Jesus shows His love for us. “As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love” (Jn.15:9). “Having loved his own who were in the world, he now showed them the full extent of his love” (Jn.13:1). “Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends” (Jn.15:13). “For Christ’s love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died” (2Co.5:14). “I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me” (Eph.5:2). “This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers” (1Jn.3:16).

“Jesus loves me! He who died, heaven’s gate to open wide; He will wash away my sin. Let His little child come in.”

We show our love for Jesus. “If you love me, you will obey what I command” (Jn.14:15). “No, the Father himself loves you because you have loved me and have believed that I came from God” (Jn.16:27). “Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy” (1Pe.1:8). “Grace to all who love our Lord Jesus Christ with an undying love” (Eph.6:24).

“Jesus loves me! Loves me still, when I’m very weak and ill; from His shining throne on high, comes to watch me where I lie.”

Our God shows His love for us. “The LORD appeared to us in the past, saying: “I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with loving-kindness” (Jer.31:3). “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life” (Jn.3:16). “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us” (Ro.5:8). “But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy made us alive…” (Eph.2:4). “How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God!” (1Jn.3:1). “Jesus loves me! He will stay, close beside me all the way; if I love Him, when I die, He will take me home on high.” We show our love for God. “Love the LORD your God

with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength” (Dt.6:5). “Love the LORD, all his saints!” (Ps.31:23). “What does the LORD your God ask of you but to fear the LORD your God, to walk in all his ways, to love him, to serve the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul” (Dt.10:12). “May the Lord direct your hearts into God’s love and Christ’s perseverance” (2Th.3:5). “Keep yourselves in God’s love as you wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring you to eternal life” (Jude 21).

“Yes, Jesus loves me! This I know, for the Bible tells me so.” Have a happy Valentine’s Day and be happy every day, knowing that Jesus loves YOU.
