Every St. John's parent is a member of our Parent-Teacher League. The main purpose of the P.T.L. is to bring the home and school into close relationship so that parents and teachers are well-informed and can cooperate more effectively in the Christian training of the children.

The P.T.L. membership consists of parents of school and pre-school children attending St. John's School and Sunday School, the teaching staff, and the pastors and any congregation members who would like to join. Regular P.T.L. meetings are held in September, February, and April. The meetings are usually held the 3rd Monday of these months beginning at 6:30pm and are held in the school cafeteria.

P.T.L. involvement consists of parents serving on various committees that the P.T,L. sponsors, such as Fall Fundraiser, Scrip, Family Fun Night, Chili Luncheon, Christmas Bake Sale, Membership Committee, and the church picnic. Each family is asked to volunteer for one or more events that the P.T.L. sponsors. Many others donate items that are needed. A parent may wish to serve as a Room Parent in their child's classroom or help in various other ways during the school year. Parents and members of the church are also encouraged to help save Campbell's labels, General Mills "Box Tops for Education", McDonalds reciepts, Kemps products, Milk Moola Caps, to participate in the scrip program, and to participate in the "We Care" program at Pick 'N Save. All profit from these programs goes to the P.T.L.

The P.T.L. also helps promote school spirit by selling T-shirts, sweatshirts, hats, seat cushions, and buttons, and by operating the concession stand at our home basketball games.

Profits from the P.T.L. activities are used to purchase needed items and support the educational programs at St. John's. Each year the P.T.L. gives each classroom teacher, the Principal, and the remedial program $200 to be used to purchase educational items for their classrooms. The organization also gives $200 each year to the following accounts: athletic, library, music, science, art, computer, and the early childhood committee. Each year the pastors, Sunday School teachers, teachers, and all support staff are remembered with a monetary gift at Christmas. Also at Christmas, an amount is given toward the purchase of a gift for all the Day School and Sunday School children.

Thank you to all who have helped in any way with any P.T.L. activity. It is very much apreciated. To those who would like to get more involved please contact one of the officers. With everyon's help and involvement the P.T.L. will truly be a blessing to the school, the children, and to the faculty and pastors.
