2018 Fall Bible Classes Begin September 9th

Adult Bible Class

Classes begin Sunday, September 9th. The focus of our study will be "Idols We Never Knew We Had." We all worship something or someone every day. In doing so, we make these objects our gods. Although many people think of idolatry as a primitive practice of ancient cultures or third-world tribes, it's as big an issue in today's Western world as it has ever been. In fact, one could argue that the idolatry we practice in the United States is more shameful and dangerous than bowing down to carved images because we don't even realize we are guilty of it. In this study we will identify many present-day idols and be equipped by God's Word to avoid falsely worshiping them.

Some of our lessons include: Success, Sports, Technology, and Family. Classes will be held on Sundays from 9:10-10:10 a.m., in the school cafeteria, and, Wednesdays from 10:10-11:00 a.m., in the Council Chambers, starting September 12th.

We plan to provide nursery care on Sunday mornings in the Childcare area at school for children too young for Sunday School (3 yrs.-6th grade). But, please call the church office (261-5959) to register your child for nursery care so you can attend Adult Bible Class. Coffee and donuts are also provided Sunday mornings. Plan to come and be enriched by studying God's Word together.

Sunday School

Classes for children ages 3 through 6th grade begin Sunday, September 9th from 9:10-10:10 a.m. in the lower level of church. Please register with the church office or Pastor Warnecke as soon as you can, if you have not already signed up. This is a great time for Christian education for both young and old here at St. John’s. There is no cost but there is a weekly offering received in these classes.
