Pastor Boehringer
Rev. John F. Boehringer was born on Dec. 5, 1945. He is currently serving St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Watertown, WI. Pastor Boehringer has served St. John’s since Oct. 1992 when he joined with the then senior pastor, Rev. Eugene Kauffeld. His main responsibilities are as administrative pastor and he currently deals specifically with the area of Elders and Adult Discipleship.
Pastor Boehringer was born to Fred and Doris Boehringer. A member of Bethel Lutheran Church, he attended Bethel Lutheran School in Saginaw, MI from Sept. 1951 to May 1960. From Bethel School, John continued his education at Michigan Lutheran Seminary (1960-1964) in Saginaw, MI. He continued his preparation for the Christian pastoral ministry at Northwestern College in Watertown, WI. He finished his schooling in May of 1972 graduating from Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary with a Bachelor of Divinity degree.
He was ordained and installed as the first permanent pastor of a mission congregation in Fresno, CA, called Shepherd of the Valley. He served there until October 1978. While at Fresno, he met and married Patrina Fries. They have been blessed with 4 children: Luke, Mark, Matthew and Beth. Pastor Boehringer has also served as a missionary to Japan (Oct. 78 to Dec. 83), as pastor of Living Word Ev. Lutheran Church in Petaluma, CA. (Jan. 84 to Oct. 88) and as a teacher of religion and director of the Christian contemporary choir, “The Sound Foundation” (Oct. 88 to Aug. 92) at Luther High School in Onalaska, WI.
