As a family united in faith by the Holy Spirit, we exist to worship and praise the Triune God, to be nurtured through His Word and Sacraments, and to share His love in Christ with others.
Lutheran Women's Missionary Society
The Lutheran Women’s Missionary Society is a service organization open to all women of WELS congregations. Our mission is to increase interest in and to support mission endeavors which are a part of or in the interest of our WELS home and world mission programs. Our motto is "United to serve Jesus". We send cards and letters to encourage our missionaries and their families.
Each spring and fall our Rock River Circuit holds a rally for the purpose of learning and sharing ideas on serving the Lord, having Bible study and hearing a mission speaker.
Every June, a National LWMS Convention is held in different cities of the United States. In 2012 it will be held in Winston-Salem, NC, with the theme “Our God Reigns”. When our members are able to attend these rallies and conventions, they come back to us inspired and encouraged to help pro-mote the spread of God's Word throughout the world. The fellowship with many other women who share your faith and hope is a wonderful experience.
At each of our meeting a member leads us in an opening devotion. This is followed by the gathering of our mission offerings. All monies given go to special mission projects.
We view short videos and hear reports of the different WELS mission fields. We also hope to serve for one of the Lenten suppers and plan to host bingo at our annual church picnic. This year we made fleece throws for the mission fields.
Our meetings are held the third Thursday of each month from September to May, starting at 1 pm with a dessert. We'd love to have you come and join us in the lower level of the church.
